8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BUILDING RESILIENCE

Risk and Resilience in practice: Vulnerabilities, Displaced People, Local Communities and Heritages
Risk and Resilience in practice: Vulnerabilities, Displaced People, Local Communities and Heritages

"The ICBR conferences sought to bridge the gap between the research community in disaster risk reduction, and policy and practice. Experts from all geographical regions shared state of the art research being conducted by Universities and research institutes, much of it being undertaken in response to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR), which defines the global course of action over the next 15 years."

The Building Resilience Conference is an annual international conference exploring resilience as a useful framework of analysis for how society can cope with the threat of natural and human induced hazards.  The 2018 edition is organised by the University of Lisbon, the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and the Global Disaster Resilience Centre at the University of Huddersfield (UK), in association with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

The ICBR’2018 will take place in historic city of Lisbon in Portugal and the mot for the 2018’s edition is “Risk and Resilience in practice: Vulnerabilities, Displaced People, Local Communities and Heritages”. The goal of the conference is to promote the sharing and discussion on current and future trends in understanding, modeling and managing resilience-related domains.
